Clothing, shoes and accessories that strut down the runway are often theatrical. While we understand that fashion sometimes calls for designs that are impractical and extravagant, it’s hard to believe some of these shoes made it to the shelves. Showcasing more novelty than function, more glitz than sophistication, we present 10 Insanely Ridiculous High Heel Shoes.

The Devil Wears Galliano? These shoes, featuring what must be a 6 inch heel, are more frightening than Anna Wintour waiting for her next Starbucks fix. Perfect for when the transsexual look takes over, it’s safe to say this is one pair that won’t make it to market.

These days we can all learn how to make the most of what’s already in our closets. It appears that this Etsy designer had the same idea. Accidentally splashed a little paint on your shoes? We understand that fashion is art and art can be fashion and all that jazz, but unlike art, shoes are made for walking. The ‘Ayers’ Art Deco Slingbacks featuring wood, mirror-like metallics and leather don’t appear to be. Wearable or not, they definitely qualify as ‘mixed media footwear.’
