    14 Eco-Chic Looks

For Momma Earth's sake, we hope that sustainable fashions are not just another passing trend. These days, with so many socially responsible designers and companies making a commitment to the planet, you don't have to sacrifice style in an effort to do the same. These 14 Eco-Chic Looks, that are mindful of the environment, health of consumers and working conditions in which they are made, are just a few examples of how you can look good and feel great while minimizing your carbon footprint.

Beyond Skin, the exclusive ethical footwear line, offers beautiful styles that were created in a cruelty-free environment. The Recycled Ruby Red Pump is a perfect classic round toe. Made of recycled plastic bottle tops and featuring a sexy 4 inch heel, you'll definitely get a lot of mileage out of them.

Thrifting is a tried and true form of living eco-chic. While finding something that is just right for you isn't always easy, try to think of ways you can re-purpose a garment to fit your needs. The Upcycled Redesigned Men's Shirt Skirt gets a whole new look with the help of Etsy designer, ClementinesCloset. The vintage stripe pattern takes on a classic form, while the shirttail hem is very of-the-moment.

Made from reclaimed sailcloth, the AUM Tote sustains its nautical look. Due to the strength of the cloth, it is ready to handle heavy loads, making it a perfect shopping bag. The basic white and brown palette and net-like print are versatile enough to throw on while wearing just about any daytime ensemble.

The Bamboo Lycra Leggings, available from Chicffonintimate on Etsy, are more than just a pair of cozy pants. The adorable, fold-down skirted top adds unique style (and as the designer mentions - conceals an unsightly camel toe), while the extra long hem helps to warm your feet. Available in several colors, they're made of soft bamboo jersey.

Always simply sexy and chic, a classic slip dress allows your inner sense of style (and a great pair of shoes) to take center stage. The Organic John Patrick Bias Cut Slip Dress has a silky feel despite its biodegradable cotton cupro construction. Neither synthetic, nor man made, cupro is a regenerated fabric that is reclaimed from natural products.

The Livity Ghana Star Fedora allows you to go eco-chic from head to toe. Made from hemp and recycled poly, its other planet-loving features includes a water-based kente print design and lining. Pair this menswear inspired piece with a girly dress and a pair of ankle boots for a crisp early fall look.

When you think eco-friendly, denim isn't the first category that comes to mind. This pair from Good Society packs all the current style you want in a pair of jeans. 100% organic raw denim is used to make the super low and skinny pair in their original dark shade of blue.

This season in fashion, things are not what they seem. Trompe l'oeil designs tease the eye and add whimsy to an otherwise ordinary piece. The V Neck Tassel Tee from Popomomo is made from organic cotton. The tassel design is hand printed with a sage water based ink. The over-sized fit and natural hue look great with a pencil mini skirt as shown.

    9. Eco-Chic jewelry doesn't have to be cutesy or offbeat. Each Dawes Designs piece is handmade by Jennifer Dawes, using recycled gold, conflict-free diamonds and responsibly mined stones. This gorgeous Blockette Baguette Diamond, featuring an 18kt gold band of your choice and a straight baguette diamond, is will-you-marry-me worthy.

The Tallula Platform Heels are green in color and in spirit. The faux suede, vegan sandals feature a classic ankle strap and platform heel. With so many environmentally friendly weddings being planned, we can't help but imagine these as a great bridesmaid shoe.

Samantha Pleet is a New York based designer that turns out beautiful and ethically made garments. The Sweetheart Neckline Jumpsuit in 100% organic cotton, is incredibly versatile and on trend. Wear it alone with stilettos now, then add tights and a cropped blazer come fall.

For those who want to be eco-chic right down to their skivvies, there are Green Knickers - a UK based company offering undergarments for men and women made from fair-trade and organic cotton, as well as hemp and bamboo. The Low Carbon Forget Me Not knickers feature a sweet floral pattern and sexy, silky side ties.

With tall and over the knee boots on deck for the upcoming season, you'll need plenty of high socks. Maggie's Mantra Knee Hi's are made of an organic cotton/spandex blend (they need to stay put, don't they?) and come in a variety of colors. Each shade features different inspirational sayings like, "just breathe," "simplify" and "remain present." After all the energy and struggling it takes to pull off said boots, we recommend the "i am calm" version.

A perfectly tailored three season blazer should be in every woman's wardrobe. This custom version, from Stephanie Teague's Etsy shop, is fashioned from fine 100% hemp linen. This makes it lightweight and breathable, while the natural color is completely versatile. Pair with jeans and western boots or linen pants for a classic summer suit.
